C.A.R.E. (Cancer - Awareness - Responsibility - Education) Behind the Chair : An Informative Event for Melanoma Awareness Month

Hair stylists and beauty consultants attended a special cancer awareness program and luncheon presented by David Ollila, MD, Co-Director of UNC’s Multidisciplinary Melanoma Program, Andrea Snyder,  owner of Andrea and Co. Salon, Chapel Hill, and the CCSP Patient and Family Resource Center on Monday, May 9, 2011.

This community event targeted area hair and skin care professionals to offer an informative program about the basics of skin cancer detection and how to encourage clients to seek further medical evaluation for questionable skin changes.

The program received great reviews with many requests from participants to have the presentation repeated for fellow co-workers who were unable to attend this session.
