Radiation therapy is a successful, time-efficient, well-tolerated, and cost-effective intervention that can be crucial for the appropriate delivery of care for patients with advanced and metastatic disease This lecture will explore current standards of care and promising advances with this type of treatment. Medical and Surgical Oncology lectures offer CNE, ASRT, and CME continuing education credit (upon approval) for eligible participants. We invite anyone interested to view our lectures. Community Lunch and Learn lectures are geared toward cancer patients, survivors, family, friends, and care givers/supports but anyone interested in learning more about cancer is welcome to join us. Every lecture has a question and answer section at the end so feel free to ask the presenter for clarification or more information. UNC is uniquely well positioned to leverage both the strengths of its researchers and its comprehensive Health Care System to develop research related to Precision Medicine. UNC School of Medicine Office of Research, the NC TraCS Institute and UNC Health Care will host a symposium and workshop to define the main areas of our efforts. The event will have opening plenary sessions to highlight exemplary projects and provide some information about potential funding. Please register online to attend by Oct. 20.
