Attorneys are able to help with making powers of attorney and legal wills for UNC Cancer Care patients and caregivers.

]]> No publisher Mary Ruth 2011-10-25T15:20:00Z Event First Descents Out Living It http://www.unclineberger.org/ccsp/calendar/first-descents-out-living-it FIRST DESCENTS and UNC Cancer Care host a free epic two-day adventure for young adults FIRST DESCENTS offers young adult cancer fighters and survivors a free outdoor adventure experience designed to empower them to climb, paddle and surf beyond their diagnosis, defy their cancer, reclaim their lives and connect with others doing the same.

All young adult cancer fighters and survivors between the ages of 18-39 who have never experienced a FIRST DESCENTS program are eligible to participate.

Friday afternoon the group will leave from the N.C. Cancer Hospital to spend two days at the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. Here you will learn an array of sports: rafting, stand-up paddle boarding, etc! Your evening will be spent relaxing over a delicious dinner in a beautiful lodge while you connect with fellow survivors and FD staff. We will have you home for dinner on Sunday.

So do something crazy! Surprise yourself, your friends and your family by joining us for a weekend that will change your life!

For a fourth year, a group of philanthropic young men are pushing their physical limits to raise funds for cancer research at UNC Lineberger. In past years, Troop 845 has raised as much as $24,000. This year, they have set a goal of $30,000 to help in the fight against cancer.
