The advent of new technologies that allow analysis of entire genomes presents many challenges to the researcher. A great deal of information is obtained through genomic sequencing and such information is highly heterogeneous, ranging from frankly uninterpretable to highly informative regarding the risk for future health conditions. Jim Evans, MD, PhD, will discuss some of these challenges and a variety of potential solutions.

The concert is held in loving memory of Bobby Fletcher Garrett, who was an 11-year cancer survivor. Proceeds from the Bobby F. Garrett Cancer Benefit Concert leading-edge head and neck cancer research at UNC Lineberger under the leadership and direction of Dr. Neil Hayes.
