Over 1,000 People Participate in Third Annual Free to Breathe 5K in Raleigh


The Third Annual Free to Breathe Lung Cancer 5K was held on November 7, 2009 on NC State’s Centennial Campus. Over 1,000 people participated. The race is held each year to increase public awareness about lung cancer and to raise funding for lung cancer research.

Attendees read stories about lung cancer patients on display by the National Lung Cancer Partnership. Two of the profiles were of Katherine Wilson and Carol Daughtry who were treated at UNC.
