More than 300 people attended the 2010 Lineberger Club event on Saturday,
January 16. The event recognizes Lineberger supporters who contribute $1000
or more annually to UNC Lineberger’s cancer treatment, research and prevention
programs.
The highlight of the event was remarks by patient Dayton Cole, from Boone, NC.
Dayton shared the story of his treatment for multiple myeloma at UNC by Dr. Don
Gabriel, professor in the division of hematology and oncology. Dayton’s
wife, Cathy, and his daughters, Amy, Erin, and Sara, were also in attendance. Read
more about Dayton.
UNC-Chapel
Hill’s mascot, Ramses, mingled with the crowd. Guests enjoyed lunch at
the Carolina Inn before watching the Tar Heel men’s basketball team take
on Georgia Tech.
