Debbie Covington, RN, BSN, OCN, CHTC

As an Adult Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse Coordinator, Debbie's job is to provide patients and families with education regarding the transplant process and coordinate their appointments and tests to prepare for their transplant admission.

In her role, she aims to provide the best care possible and works closely with the adult transplant team and other members of the adult multidisciplinary team to ensure that the needs of patients and families are being met.

Debbie  joined the UNC Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Program (BMT) in 1995 after working in Medical/Surgical ICU and as a Liver Transplant Coordinator. "I had no idea that 17 years later I would still be a part of the BMT team," she explains. "Being a part of each patient's cancer journey is such a meaningful and moving experience."

She loves the outdoors, gardening, and relaxing at the beach with a good book.
