Jennifer has worked at UNC for 15 years, and for the last four of those years, she has been with the Breast and Endocrine Oncology programs.
"I have found my purpose working in the N.C. Cancer Hospital. Fourteen years ago, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer that later metastasized to her lungs. I was with her through her journey, and my experience with her affords me the empathy to relate with patients."
Jennifer says that her department recently read and discussed Stephen R. Covey's book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and felt that a big take away was to try to make every interaction with patients, referring facilities and co-workers a win-win situation. "I enjoy working in this capacity. It allows me to meet such a diverse group of people," says Jennifer.
When not at work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her 14-year-old son Jonathan, her family and volunteering with Jonathan’s Boy Scout Troop.
