Sam Sharf

With experience ranging from the Emergency Department to Pediatric Heart Transplant, Sam gravitated to BMT after she left the Emergency Department in 1998.  “BMT is a very unique specialty and it’s an honor to work alongside such wonderful staff and brilliant physicians.  Many of those in our BMT program have been here since it started which is a testimony to the dedication we all have to our patients and this program," says Sam. "I feel like we’re truly making a difference at UNC.”

When she’s not working, Sam loves to do “anything outside” including growing vegetables, cycling and running.  She especially enjoys getting to dance every morning before dawn to prepare for the day. Whether at the ballet bar or working on a project for BMT, Sam’s dedication and commitment to UNC shine through. She and her husband Andrew share their home with two Great Pyrenees and a lovable Golden Retriever.
