Area of Interest

Dr. Lixin Song is interested in improving care for cancer patients and their families (especially informal caregivers), with specific training and expertise in psychosocial issues and related intervention as well as research methodology. Dr. Song?s research crosscuts a range of areas in psycho-oncology, health disparities, and cancer care outcomes. Four of her major lines of work include treatment decision making of patients with cancer and partner involvement; communication and interaction between cancer patient, family caregiver, and health care providers; health-related quality of life; and cancer-related health disparities
