Parking and Transportation
Patients can be dropped off at the door of the N.C. Cancer Hospital. The driveway to do so is accessed by turning north onto Hospital Drive from Manning Drive, the street in front of the hospital complex.
Parking for patients and visitors is located in the Dogwood Parking Deck. There are entrances to the Dogwood Parking Deck from East Drive, across from the entrance to the Hospitals, and also from Mason Farm Road, at the far end of the parking deck. Parking in the Dogwood Deck is $1.50 per hour, for a maximum of $8 per day.
An $8 day pass can be purchased from the Parking Office on the 3rd floor of the Neurosciences Hospital if needed (this pass is most beneficial if you will be in and out of the parking deck several times during the course of one day). For additional questions, call the Cashier's Office at 919-966-4704.
Patients receiving radiation therapy will be given passes to park in a specially designated area next to the N.C. Cancer Hospital. Check with your nurse coordinator for more details.
Other Parking
Emergency Room and Urgent Care Parking
For patients visiting the Emergency Room or Urgent Care Center, parking is located outside the Emergency Room main entrance. One vehicle per patient is allowed in this lot. You must request a parking permit from the Emergency Department security officer or the admitting receptionist in order to park in this area.
Handicapped Parking
People with valid Handicapped Parking Permits may park, up to four hours, in any of the limited number of Handicapped Parking spaces located directly in front of the Main (Memorial) Hospital. Additional Handicapped Parking spaces are located in the Dogwood Deck on Levels 1 and 2. Handicapped-accessible shuttles service the spaces in the Dogwood Deck. Please contact the parking attendant if you need assistance.
Valet Parking
Patients and Visitors of UNC Hospitals may valet park if they prefer. Valet Parking is located on Hospital Drive directly in front of the N.C. Children’s Hospital. Valet parking is also available at the N.C. Cancer Hospital lot, located on Emergency Room Drive, just off of Manning Drive. Valet parking costs $10 per vehicle and is limited to one vehicle per family.
Transportation
Parking Area Shuttles
Golf cart shuttles provide service between the Dogwood Deck and the front door of the Main Hospital from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The shuttles make stops at the N.C. Cancer Hospital.
Hospital Bus Service
The Hospital Bus Service is provided between the following facilities approximately every ten minutes, Monday through Friday. Every route has at least one bus or van with wheelchair accessibility.
Main Hospital & Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) runs 6:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Neurosciences Hospital & Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) runs 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Main Hospital, Aycock Family Medical Center & Ronald McDonald House runs 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
