More about Aimee Shea

“I’m a strong believer in using nutrition to maximize quality of life and overall well-being. … Everyone is impacted by what they eat.” Aimee said.

Nutrition counseling can cover an array of topics, including dealing with swallowing difficulties, preventing weight gain, coping with involuntary weight loss, and what to eat both during and after cancer treatment.

Aimee also said that the new program’s first center-wide event will be held in March, which is National Nutrition Month. The four-part series will focus on what to eat to combat certain side effects of cancer treatment, and it will include cooking demos and taste tests.

“It’s been incredible to see how the patients have such positive attitudes throughout the treatment process. I‘m amazed at how strong people are,” Aimee said of her first few months at Lineberger.

Aimee also said she hopes to expand her program’s services to include nutrition seminars for employees.
