Golf Tournament Raises $50,000 for UNC Lineberger
A charity golf tournament raised $50,000 to establish a patient assistance fund for patients and families being treated for leukemia and lymphoma at UNC Lineberger. The September 23rd event, held at the North Shore Country Club in Sneads Ferry, was organized in memory of Sean Williams, the son of Colonel Mike and Debbie Williams of Hubert. Sean died from leukemia on February 15, 2007, at the age of 24.
Event honors Durhams, raises money to name a consultation room in their honor
Woody and Jean Durham were honored on October 13 in Chapel Hill for their volunteer service to UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at a dinner called “A Toast to Woody.”
