Community Group Gets on its Feet to Lend a Hand and Honor Harriet Farb

A dedicated group of walkers braved the snow on Saturday, December 4, 2010 to participate in the Walk for Hope, held in honor of Harriet Farb, who lost her 20-year battle with breast cancer in October, 2010.  Proceeds from the event will be used for a fund called “Harriet’s Helping Hand.” The event took place at the Apartments of Stonehenge in Raleigh, where Farb lived. The event raised close to $2,000.

Harriet Farb climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in January of 2008 with her brother, Ron, and raised $15,000 for the Patient and Family Resource Center.

This program provides parking and food vouchers and gas cards for cancer patients and their families to help defray the costs of treatment.
