Michael Young, Director of Telemedicine Prior to his arrival to Chapel Hill in 2009, Michael served as Director of Telemedicine and Distance Learning at Oklahoma State University for 8 years. While at OSU, Michael developed and built the OSU Mobile Telemedicine Clinic enabling OSU physicians to visit patients across the state. Julie Sweedler, MPH, Education Coordinator Julie Sweedler was hired in 2011 as the Education Coordinator for the UNC Cancer Network’s Telemedicine Program. While she is new to the Telemedicine program, she is no stranger to UNC, having worked for 7 years as the first Manager of the Women’s Health Information Center at the N.C. Women’s Hospital. Prior to taking her current job, Ms. Sweedler spent close to 2 years as the Education Director at a new specialty hospital in Botswana, southern Africa where she created a continuing medical education program for the doctors there. Ms. Sweedler received her Masters of Public Health in Health Behavior and Health Education at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health in 1994. She is happy to be back at UNC and working with our oncology partners throughout the State who use the Telemedicine technology provided by UNC to access UNC Tumor Boards and other continuing medical education programming.
