Tickled Pink 2008

"Where flowers bloom, so does hope." - Lady Bird Johnson

Inspired by Lady Bird's quote, this year's Tickled Pink events -- two funky, fun and perfectly pink events to benefit women's cancer research at UNC Lineberger -- were filled with flowers. Bouquets, blooms, and buds surrounded a sellout crowd of over 300 at the luncheon and more than 220 guests at the Twilight event.

UNC Lineberger patient and breast cancer survivor LaTeacha Coleman, from Fayetteville, NC, spoke to both audiences. Guests of both events brought favors including writing journals, new soft socks, and headscarves to be donated to the Patient and Family Resource Center.

The events raised over $60,000 to benefit women's cancer research at UNC Lineberger, bringing the total raised at these events over the past five years to $300,000.
