This program primarily targets Dermatologists, Medical Oncologists, Dermatologic Surgeons, Surgical Oncologists, General Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioners and other health professionals who are interested in the treatment of melanoma.

The information presented at this educational activity should improve your ability to diagnose and treat
melanoma and aggressive non-melanoma skin cancers, focusing on the following issues:

  • scientific evidence for sunscreens
  • the clinical dilemmas facing both dermatologists and dermatopathologists in correctly diagnosing _
  • difficult melanocytic lesions including pigmented lesions of the nails
  • the surgical issues facing the dermatologist and surgeon treating melanoma and merkel cell cancers
  • the tanning bed controversy as viewed by a North Carolina lawmaker
  • the current role of systemic therapy in the melanoma patient with metastatic disease, including updated information on CTLA-4 inhibitors, BRAF-inhibitors and MEK inhibitors
