UNC Lineberger Geneticist Testifies Before Congress on Direct-to-Consumer Genetic Tests

CHAPEL HILL, NC - Dr.Jim Evans, testified at a hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations on Thursday, July 22. He was invited to address the issue of direct to consumer genetic tests.

Evans, who has advised the secretary of Health and Human Services, is a medical geneticist and holds medical and doctoral degrees. He is director of Clinical Cancer Genetics and is the Bryson Distinguished Chair of Human Genetics at UNC and a member of UNC Lineberger.
